Born January 31, 1808, in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, of Joseph ROSS and Pollyanna (CAMP) ROSS. He was one of ten children.

On March 22, 1835, Norman married Jane A. BLAKESLY (which was probably correctly, or at one time, spelled BLAKESLEE or BLAKSLEE).

For a time, Norman operated his father's mill around which the town of Middletown Center was built.

Norman and his family moved to Michigan sometime prior to 1887, but no further record of them is available.
