Born April 27, 1814, in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, of Daniel ROSS and Jane (HANCOCK) ROSS. He was one of eight children.
Joseph married twice: (first) to Emmaline SEANS, and (second) to Mary Doane TERRILL. He is almost certain to have had children, but none are known.
Of particular note was the fact that Joseph's second wife was also the wife of Orrin J. ROSS (A629), although her maiden name varies from TERRELL to TERRILL. It is not known which was her first husband.
Joseph died May 9, 1889.
