Born in Hastings, Nebraska, July 15, 1933, of William Bryan ROSS and Ruby (HARLOW) ROSS.

"Barney" served in the Army during the Korean War. He spent his entire life in the building trades. After some time as a carpenter in California, he took up bricklaying -- following many of his immediate and ancestral family. Typical of that trade, he moved around a great deal, following the work.

Barney was married three times:

• By his first wife, Ethel BAUMFALK, he had a daughter Linda Marie.
• By his second wife, Twila SHAFFER, he had a daughter Kathy Lee, and a son Kenneth Robert.
• His third wife, Irene CALLAHAN brought a stepson, Eliot, into the family.

Barney was always a happy man, and loved fishing and hunting. During his later years, he enjoyed the fishing company of Mary ROSS, the widow of his brother William G. ROSS. They both love fishing in the beautiful Big Horn Mountains…proudly carrying on an important ROSS tradition.

In 2009-2016, Barney was living in Sheridan, Wyoming.

On January 9th, 2017, Barney died surrounded by his family in Sheridan, Wyoming.

The one on the left is Claude ("Shorty") Harlow (Barney's uncle), and to his left is "Kinky" White, owner of the old goldmine near the south end of Hazleton Flats. It was Kinky's cabin we were using as elk hunting camp in the Big Horn Mountains about 1958, so we certainly weren't watching television!
